Growing up so fast
This weekend we decided to be good kids and went to visit my Husband's parents. There was a lot to do, as always, and I mostly just hung out with Adelaide.. Which was nice, but made me more tired than being just at home. Anyhow, the camera was not even taken out, so there are no pictures from our weekend. :)
But it's interesting.. How fast and how much she has developed! Usually, just living our normal everyday life, I don't notice it that much.. I really don't get the sentence that some people say, that being home with a baby is fun, because "every day is something new".. I feel that mostly every day is exactly the same and there is nothing new. Those big milestones, when she suddenly starts doing something that she hasn't done before, they don't happen that often.. And even if she does something new, at first it's just for a second, once, and it takes time to slowly develop the skill.
However, being on the ferry, while going to the island, where my Husband is from, I remembered the last time when we were there, and it was around Christmas, so exactly a month ago.. And she was so different back then! So much calmer and easier to handle. :) This time it was a little party for her - she was happy and excited, screaming from joy and making the funniest noises, and wanting to crawl and jump everywhere.. An active one we have.
It's really interesting to learn about her personality and temperament, as she grows. It's becoming more clear. She was a calm baby.. an "easy" baby. She actually still is calm. In a way that she doesn't cry much for no reason, doesn't get easily upset or whiny.. But she is very active and full of energy, she is social and communicative, and very expressive! She is brave and curious, and adventurous. So interesting to get to know her. :)
But it doesn't look like there are easy times in front of us. ;)
Interestingly, exactly in the last week there actually has been a leap in her development.. Because there are many changes at once:
And as we decided, that we should make even more videos of her, I filmed, as she was concentrating so nicely at her activity-triangle toy. She really likes it, she likes the balls on the wire, and can research them for quite a while.
And I am trying to be a good Montessori parent - to not distract her, when she's at work and concentrating on something!

Interestingly, exactly in the last week there actually has been a leap in her development.. Because there are many changes at once:
- she has started "talking" in a totally new way, saying very clear and repeating syllables: ma-ma-ma-ma and em-em-em-em (which sounds like mamma or emme (we can't decide yet, does she say mom in Latvian or Estonian. ;) I hear mamma in Latvian, and my Husband hears emme in Estonian..)
- she has started to actually eat. Opening her mouth, when I come with a spoon, and actually swallowing it!
- she has started to crawl really fast! This already resembles a more real crawling.
And as we decided, that we should make even more videos of her, I filmed, as she was concentrating so nicely at her activity-triangle toy. She really likes it, she likes the balls on the wire, and can research them for quite a while.

Wow...last we met was less than month ago and she really has much faster moves. Looking forward to meet you soon. And I am curious, how our cat will take her...he is usually afraid of babies and little child, but last time he was quite calm, when you visited. Let´s see:).
