Who knew toddlers can garden?

In some way it really feels unbelievable.. Because that's not how toddlers usually are portrayed - as capable beings. Actually they are! They are capable of so much!

Adelaide (tomorrow will be) 22 months old, and a few days ago we did some gardening together - we planted salad in the greenhouse, as well as (sowed) radish and dill. (A little tip - when buying salad in shop, that comes in the tiny pot, after using it you can put the stem back in the ground and a totally new salad grows out of it again.)

She was quite amused with the tiny little salad. :) Carried it herself to the greenhouse..

And then we went to get water, each of us had our own watering can. Adelaide's one is better than my own.. She really loved this part. Then she carefully carried it back to the greenhouse..

And we put the salad in the ground and watered it.

We also sowed some radish and more salad, and dill, for some fresh first spring greens.

She even wanted to have some seeds and put them in the ground! And we covered them with soil. And watered again. She actually helped. Even though to me it was a bit more stressful and took longer than if I would have done it myself - to let her do it, guide her and at the same time make sure that something would also come out of it (let's hope they grow), but in the end it's worth it, because it's so cool to watch her do it. :)
