Jasmiina's 1st birthday party

Happy New Year, everyone! And especially happy new year to our dear Jasmiina, as she's starting the second year of her life. :) I really think Jasmiina has birthday on such a cool day! I have always liked New Year's, there is something magical about the party, glamour, champagne and fireworks in a cold winter night, as you decide, that the new year will be the best one.. And now it's so much more special, as Jasmiina has a birthday on this cool day. 

We had a birthday party for Jasmiina during the day, and it slowly turned into New Year's celebration.

It was an interesting experience - having a party in our home, indoors, during winter, as oppose to Adelaide's summer parties in our yard. It was different. But still amazing and special. 

All of our family came - closest family of both me and Mr. Husband. We invited only a couple of closest friends, who couldn't make it. Probably we'll make a few separate parties for some friends soon.

But as our family (Mr. Husband's family, to be exact) is so big, we definitely needed more space (our house is not very big). So the big project - the playroom - was due. It's also our gift to Jasmiina on her birthday - the new playroom. :) Of course, it will be used by all of the children, but there was put a lot of effort in getting the playroom (somewhat) ready exactly for this day. The renovation, with having two small children, which lately is turning out to be really hard and exhausting, was taking longer than we had hoped, so it was finished in the last moment - at 2 am on the night before the birthday :D The walls were painted on the last day and at 2 am we were putting the furniture in and decorating it. But well, it's pretty much ready! Of course, there are many details still missing - like the shelves (for now there's only the tiny shelf we had in our living room until now), frames and art on the walls, I guess there's coming the piano as well (the room seems so much smaller than I had imagined! But I guess piano still has to come), but we already love the room. :)

But first of all.. We started the birthday morning with a lot of balloons in the bed! Jasmiina loved it!

And when Jasmiina woke up, she got another gift - the rainbow rocker! Our friend at our Montessori mornings has it, and children just love it! It's perfect for so little ones, Jasmiina really enjoys it already.

Time for the cake. Quite proud of this one - first time I've made a two tier cake. It's a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

The birthday girl is having a cauliflower instead of her cake. :D

The older sister quite enjoyed the party as well. :) She keeps saying though, that now it's time for her birthday again.

It was a fun day! Jasmiina is such a blessing, so happy girl, bringing so much joy to all of us. Can't imagine our life without her.

Most of the guests left during the evening and went to welcome 2018 somewhere else, my family stayed, and exhausted, but happy we received the new year, with kisses and hugs and some little fireworks. Both of the girls were up really late, and are now sleeping the day away. :)

Can't wait to see, what all this year will bring!
