Hiiumaa moments

Summer is full-on. We are back from our wonderful vacation in Hiiumaa. But the vacation-mood is still going, because of the -finally!- amazing summer weather, friends visiting, going to swim and so on.
Yes! Finally we are going to swim! I was determined - once we arrive in Hiiumaa to start our vacation, we must go swim straight away! And we did.. :) And it was amazing.. (In the end we swam only for like 2 times there, because weather got colder and rainier.. But at least now we have been swimming in our local lake for a couple of times.)
We tried to enjoy Hiiumaa with everything it has to offer (which is mainly sea, different beaches, junipers..) as much as possible. The first few days that we got to spend just us, our little family, no distractions (not even internet, we really were quite unplugged for most of this time!) in Mr. Husband's grandparent's country-side house.. that was the best, really. That is all I want.. all the time - just be with these couple of people, Mr. Husband and these two amazing girls. Perfection.
Then there were many days spending time also with Mr. Husband's family, which was also nice, especially as Adelaide got to spend more time with her cousins (who are almost the same age as her, or a bit older), their relationships definitely were evolving during this time, and Adelaide enjoyed it too.

So here are the moments from our Hiiumaa time. :)

Starting with the ferry ride, Adelaide simply loves the sea! And boats.. And ships.. This was actually the first time we went out on the deck with her! (Usually it's so cold..) She was amazed, she liked the crazy wind out there. And was pointing to the Hiiumaa, seen far in the distance, now she thinks everywhere - somewhere - far, out there -  is Hiiumaa. :D

Baby-led-weaning on the go

This was Adelaide's favorite beach. We didn't swim here, because the wind was super cold, but she was so much enjoying running around in the water.. That she got more wet in the end than in the other places, where we did "swim". :D

The second part of our vacation was mostly around Kärdla, the capital of Hiiumaa. Starting the Cafe' days early.

Jasmiina was observing and participating a lot from the comforts of our Tula carrier.

Then started the actual Cafe days of Hiiumaa.. We loved them so much last year, that I definitely wanted to go this year too. Not sure it was quite as amazing, but definitely still charming. (Cafe days are when people make pop-up cafes in their own homes or yards for a day.) Old, beautiful homes and nice yards, sitting under apple trees with a nice drink in hand and some cake.. Fun for children to run around, even some music.. It's lovely. A good was to enjoy a bit of Hiiumaa.

And whenever a chance, Jasmiina could practice her new moves. See that?! :)

And the last day in Hiiumaa was quite rainy, but it turned out to be one of the best ones. Starting with a lonely beach wrapped in junipers..
Adelaide is obsessed with berries, any kind. She was last summer and is again. She can stand at a bush and eat them forever. Juniper berries were no exception.

Hiiumaa has also some first-class food to offer.. Going to restaurants with two children is not exactly easy, but it's still possible.

And it's obvious, where Adelaide has gotten her love for swinging.. :D

And then! We went on a totally un-planned boat ride on the sea. It's an old fishing boat..

This was such a fun time for us. So fun and rich in new experiences, that we couldn't wait to be back home again and return to our routine. But that's what vacations are for! ;)
