Adelaide's 1st Birthday Party!
Oh, yesterday was a big day. :) Our little girl is now a one-year-old. A day, full of memories. Already the previous day was, as we were preparing, I was recalling the year-old events. (The labor started already in the morning of 7th..)
Adelaide's first birthday was in my mind already for months.. :D The planning happened early. And somehow it felt, that it has to be celebrated on the actual day. Because then is her actual Birth Day. Of course, we could have celebrated it just us, but as most of our family has quite flexible jobs, we really decided to have a party on Wednesday, 8th of June.
It wasn't a goal to have a big party, just family and couple of closest friends (mostly with babies themselves), but as Mr. Husband's family is huge.. We had about 14 adults and 7 children under age 5. And it's summer, so we had the party in our yard. Well, Estonian summer can be tricky.. But we always hope for the best. :D
And it was tricky on the actual day as well. The previous day having been nice and warm, we woke up yesterday morning with rain. It was wet and cold outside. :( Which made me kinda upset at first.. Our home is not so spacious, decorations were all planned for outside.. But as the weather prognosis was promising to be sunny in the afternoon, we still went with outside. Meaning, we were inside at first, eating and watching pictures from our photo session and Adelaide's video. But decorated was outside, and quite soon the weather really got better, and we all went out, to open the presents, starting with the very first - gift from Mr. Husband himself - the renovated sandbox! Oh, children really loved the sandbox! :) And other gifts as well..
The day turned out to be amazingly nice, evening turned out to be lovely sunny and warm. So we were really happy with the party! It seemed that everyone was enjoying themselves, children were having fun.. The little birthday girl as well, she was trying to chase her older cousins, but the dress got in the way. :)
For a moment she got a bit cranky, but then it was time for the birthday cake, and that made everything better. ;)
All in all.. It was one truly happy day, filled with joy and love, our family and friends.
We started the day with bed, full of balloons. :)
This was funny, the first bouquet she got, she didn't let out of her hands..
..even when taking the birthday nap. :)
One of her amazing gifts - rocking horse! She likes it, even though is afraid to sit on it. She will come to it. :)
Some of our spread.
Little hearts everywhere.. :D
The birthday girl has woken up from her nap. The bouquet still in her hands. :) (It wasn't easy to dress her, while she wouldn't let go.. :D )
The dress is made by me, btw. Here's a closer look:
And as the weather turned to the nice side, birthday girl could enjoy her new sandbox for the first time! :) Looks like she liked it.
Some of the decorations.. I had made a photo thread - from Adelaide's birth (and before) till 12 months. :)
And I made her a Waldorf-style doll. :)
And, of course, the birthday cake!
Maybe it was one of her favorite parts. :D
And the sun was amazing. As is our Adelaide! :)
We are thankful for everyone, who helped out, and for everyone who came.. or wanted to come. :)
