Jasmiina, what are you doing?!

Jasmiina.. is growing up super fast. She was taking her time at first, but now she is developing and gaining new skills so fast, that she takes us by surprise. :)

What to even begin with?! A couple of weeks ago she got on all fours. Which was a bit surprising, as she hadn't shown any interest in pulling herself forward (and it looks like she is going to skip that) and only recently had started rolling (and now she rolls all the time, also in her sleep.. many times a night, how fun is that). She got on all fours and started rocking herself back and forth, whenever a chance (she likes to do it in the bed, Jasmiina is a little bit picky, she doesn't like to be on the floor that much, I brought down our carpet, hoping it helps, she likes it a little bit better).
She has been doing it more and more, so I was expecting that she is going to start crawling any minute now. Only a slight push forward, that's all it would take.. Because right now she is maneuvering sideways and often pushes herself backwards, but not directly forward.

She was rocking back and forth, back and forth.. Kind of sideways too, rolling around.. And really, this morning, suddenly - she's sitting! :) She pushed herself back into a sitting position, and repeated it several more times today.
And that's wow! Sitting is such a huge milestone.. She was ecstatic herself! :) Look at that big smile!

Sitting is so great, because it allows to do so much more.. You have free hands and an overview! She has liked the Permanence Box, now she likes it even more (to taste and explore).

It's interesting, that she has achieved sitting even a bit earlier than Adelaide did, but almost at the same time. (Adelaide was 4 days short of 8 moths, Jasmiina is a week short.) They develop so completely differently! Adelaide was pulling herself forward all around the house already.. She seemed a lot stronger and more stable. Jasmiina sits for a while, reaches for something.. And not right away, but eventually she loses her balance and falls over. Not badly, but she has always been sensitive, and lets out a big cry.

And. Finally.. Or, again. Jasmiina has her first teeth! :) (I wrote once, that she had.. I was mistaken, there was nothing yet. :D) But now, they're out, first one came on 14th of August, and the second one soon after. (You can kind of see them shining..)

So the Baby Led Weaning is going well too. :)

She likes broccoli, banana and first local apples. I'm only a little bit at loss on what to give her.. That she could hold on her own and get into her mouth (I guess I could say she has tried: cucumber, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato, carrot, usual potato, pork, chicken, sweet pea shells, Turkish beans, banana, apple, peach, as well as bread, both light bread with seeds as well as rye bread, cottage cheese cakes that I made with banana and no sugar and some baby cornflour and rice crisps. I guess she got even cheese once.. Ok, well if I name it all like that, it even looks like she has covered quite much. :D Solid food is still quite a small part of her food intake, she snacks on something about twice a day, it's mainly still breastmilk.

And this is already quite an old info.. But we had a doctor's visit two weeks ago, and she was.. big! :)

9,42 kg and
71,5 cm

Jasmiina is wearing clothes, that Adelaide wore at 1 year old to even 1,5. Interesting, will Jasmiina really outgrow her sister? They can almost wear the same size now.. Maybe she will, they have such a small age gap.

She is amazing. :) Can't wait to see what's more to come!
