Walker Wagon Review
So a little while ago, actually almost a month ago, we bought a Montessori-style walker wagon (a pushing cart) for Adelaide, as she started to push things around the room.
At first I was still a little bit skeptic. Because I don't want to rush her into something (walking), if she is not ready. Even though - Montessori actually also supports natural (not stimulated) physical development, and they say that the pushing wagon is nothing like a baby walker - because it only helps, once the baby is actually ready herself, it doesn't stimulate on its own.
And now I see it myself. It's actually true - because a month ago Adelaide really couldn't push it. Even though she was walking, while holding onto furniture, she still wasn't stable enough on her own, she needed more support. And if she held on to the wagon, it just ran away.
Now, in a month, she is pushing simply everything around, that moves. Even big and heavy chairs. :D
And now she is able to use the wagon as well. She quite enjoys pushing it around the room. :) Of course, she needs help maneuvering - turning it around.
This video was taken yesterday. And today she is even so much more better with it! She could even back up a bit, when going around a small obstacle!
Another funny thing she has been doing - practicing somekinda weird backwards movement! :) Backing up. Probably a very useful one.
And she really is putting things into each other now, finally! :) Like little plastic cups. Not very interested in it yet though, so surely this skill will escalate at some point.
