A quick MyMayu and Baby Bogs comparison

Yesterday all of our winter wonderland melted away.. It is warm, almost all of the snow is gone, it's wet and there were huge puddles outside, and Adelaide was really enjoying them. :)

We were outside twice, the first time I put Baby Bogs on, the second time went with MyMayu Muddy Munchkins. So I wanted to write a quick review, our opinion about both of these toddler boots, as they offer similar qualities, but are somewhat different.

MyMayu rubber boots:

+ They are really comfortable for a toddler to walk and run in, I would definitely choose these for a beginner walker, small baby, who is only learning to walk.
+ They are long, so can run even in deep puddles with these and the clothes don't get wet.
+ They stay on very well and will not fall off.
+ Without any insert can be worn in rainy Estonian summer, as they are not warm.

- The waterproofness is not great, but ok. They are somewhat waterproof, sometimes the feet have stayed dry, but, for example, yesterday - one toe was still wet (so lets water in even somewhere from the front of the shoe).
- They are hard to put on, especially with the warm insert. It's hard for me even, and would be impossible for Adelaide to put them on herself.. forever, I believe. Can't imagine, when and how she would be able to do it.
- They are not very warm.. For 0 degrees C and warmer they are fine, but I wouldn't use the rubber sole in snow, even with the warm insert.
- They are super, super slippery! This was a surprise for me yesterday.. I though they would be kinda same as the Bogs in this way, as both have quite a smooth sole. There was some water on melted snow, not even real ice.. And with MyMayu she practically wasn't able to walk at all! She was falling constantly.. So, MyMayu - defintely not for ice and winter, only for mud and autumn, summer weather.

Baby Bogs:

+ Warm. Good for autumn and winter. Her feet has always stayed warm in them, in colder weather we wear them with a wool sock.
+ Easy and comfortable to put on. Adelaide has many times put them on herself, when she wants to go out! This will be especially important, once I actually expect her to dress herself.
+ They are not even that slippery.. Sure, a little, but she could still walk more or less normally, especially if compared to MyMayu.
+ Comfortable enough. Adelaide can walk and run in them just fine.
+ Waterproofness is quite good! She was running in puddles with them and I was sure her feet were going to get wet, but they did't. However..

- The hole in the back, that is for easier putting on, I suppose, lets the water go in, if the puddles are too deep. Yesterday, when she was running in really deep puddles, it was obvious that the water had gone in from behind. This hasn't been a problem in snow.
- Sometimes they can just fall off (when getting in and out of the car, for example), but this only happened, when we wore them without the wool sock. I guess as they were quite loose, with some space to grow.

So both definitely have their own positives, I actually think both are quite good boots, maybe each for a little different purpose. Hope this review is helpful for someone wondering, which boots to buy, as maybe you could manage with not buying both, they both are also quite pricey.. (We bought MyMayu on sale, so they cost exactly the same as Baby Bogs, shipping included.)

For the final word then - if I would need boots for beginner walker, or boots for warm weather, I would buy MyMayu. But for autumn and winter, and for a more stable walker, I'd definitely go with Baby Bogs. I'm quite sure even, that also my future children will get Baby Bogs.. Oh, well, and Bogs are super cute, we get complimented on them every time someone sees them for the first time. :)
