New chair for the big girl

We finally introduced a new highchair for Adelaide.
So far she was sitting in this wooden highchair, and actually - it's really good, we really liked it.

Who is this tiny baby?! :D
But, as the plan already was, it was time to take off the baby seat restrictions, so she could climb in and out of the chair herself. (So far she had to be lifted in and out of it.)
For a while I thought she might be ready, stable enough, wouldn't somehow fall out by accident, and in last couple of days she was letting us know for sure.. She was trying to climb in it for a long time already, but now she had started to try to climb out of it! And that was getting dangerous.

We could have used the same chair, as for that one too is possible to take the restrictions off, but as we had this one too (bought as used and kind of unplanned), we thought this might be better for her climbing in it.
And who knew it, she could do it perfectly right away, with no problem at all!
Also, I thought she might be attached to her old chair, but no.. She really loved the new one. :) I guess it proves once again, that children love independence.

Here she is, climbing in and out..

A comment on chairs and eating arrangements.. The pure "Montessori way" would be for her to sit at her tiny table and chair. And she has it and does it, for snacks, drinking water and some other activities.. But when it comes to eating, I'm a strong believer in family meals, meals at the table, her eating together with us (when we are also eating), and highchair is better for that.
Well, now, when she can use it herself (I only have to push it closer, as she pushes it away with her climbing, I guess can't avoid that..), it's all perfect.
