Dream weekend at the lake

Finally I have the time to write about the weekend! :) Days are busy around here..

But the last weekend was great! What can be better than enjoying some nice (warm!) Estonian summer with some nice people (Adelaide's godparents), at a peaceful, beautiful lake.. in a tiny little lake house, in privacy, where is sauna, boat, ducks, outside fireplace and good food? Mm, amazing.

It was really, really far from our home - a 3,5 h drive (which Adelaide was handling surprisingly well! She slept 2 hours on the way there, and on the way back we thought she would sleep, it was in the evening, but she didn't! She was awake and even quite happy, reading books and so on, the whole way)..

(P.S. A little review on our ERF car-seat - as you see, a 13-month old still using it perfectly, no problem at all. So travelling 5 times safer than forward-facing.)

The first stop we made was at the beautiful Saadjärv lake.

And next we visited a pretty popular place in Estonia - Elistvere animal park. I had heard a lot about it, and so maybe expectations were a bit high.. It was nice and cute (made in an old mansion yard), but quite small - we saw a couple of animals.. But similar places I have been in Latvia and Finland have been more interesting, I'd say.

But Adelaide liked it. Ok, let's say - more she enjoyed the running around part. :) But if she could actually see some animal, she was really excited about that as well. Here she is watching a squirrel..

The one we saw the closest was probably the elk.

Of course, she didn't want to be carried somewhere (and we didn't get a pulling cart), so she wanted to run. :) Actually, she was surprisingly good at keeping direction and following us, where we needed to go. Of course, until a moment, where she saw something more interesting..

Picture animals are nice too (we saw a live bear as well).

As you can see, she was genuinely interested.

Why couldn't we see this one anywhere? Of course - Adelaide pointed it out to us - it lives at night. :)

And then we finally arrived..
It was a weekend of rest. Next time would like to see some more places at that end of Estonia, we get to go there so rarely.

Isn't it a paradise? And some animal watching can be done here too, even get a closer look than in the animal park..

While we were resting, Adelaide was entertaining her godparents and showing, how fun girl she is. :)
