Enjoying Hiiumaa
Another great weekend. :) Seems that there have been pretty many this summer.
This time it was Hiiumaa turn. There was the biggest event of the year - Hiiumaa Cafe days, for the 10th time already. Somehow weirdly, even though I have been around for 6 years, we never had happened to go there. Even though they say, that the event is starting to lose it's glory.. I don't know, it was still very nice.
These type of home cafe days have started exactly in Hiiumaa, but now they happen all over Estonia - somehow Estonians really dig them. ;) (I haven't heard of any such thing in Latvia!) But what's not to like - cute little cafes made in cute towns - people's yards (it used to be totally about home cafes - meaning totally usual people took this job for a day, to welcome visitors and offer something nice, but as the event grew bigger, there have stayed really few like that, maybe it's more like a street food festival now, but still), you can sit, eat and drink, spend a ton of money, walk around and simply enjoy! ;)
We arrived on Saturday and went straight out - there were about 13 cafes in Kärdla - the capital of Hiiumaa. We checked out almost all of them, ate or drank something in most. It was nice. Even Adelaide was enjoying it enough - in the middle she took a long nap in the stroller, even better for us, we could walk around calmly. Even all the crowds of people and super loud music didn't wake her up! And if it is quite impossible to go to restaurants with her (because she wants to run around), then here it was great - there usually was plenty of room to run, nothing dangerous or forbidden that she could run into.. Great for children as well.

Adelaide's appetite is never-ending lately! :) Like she could eat all day long.. I guess she has some growing to do.
In outings like this we usually share something from our own food, at least if there is anything suitable or that she would like, but we have some jar food with us in case too, she likes those a lot.
So if the Saturday was nice, then Sunday.. was even so much more nicer! It was amazing. The cafe days continued - only this time they were not in the town, but all around the island. We didn't really have it in us to drive around all of them, but quite randomly we chose a place, where were 3 cafes right next to each other.. And it turned out to be a huge win. It was the best place ever!
The weather was simply perfect.. Hiiumaa in summer is a paradise. And here was possible to enjoy the essence of it. One cafe was really made by people - in their own summer house - and the food was made by some young guy, who is almost like a world level chef! They had a grill menu, so we took burgers there, and it was seriously the best burger I have ever had!
It's amazing, how beautiful homes people have.. (Eh, makes you feel small - I have no idea, how it's possible to achieve that..)
And the place next door was so cool too - there were hammocks and chairs in the middle of a little pine forest, music, food.. It had a total Positivus (Latvian music festival, famous especially by it's atmosphere) vibe.
And the third place was next to a small church, and Mr. Husband with his mom even got to enjoy a nice concert there, I was meanwhile hanging out with Adelaide in the cool cafes. :)

And as if the day couldn't get any more perfect.. We still went to the beach in the evening, to catch some August sun. The water was warm, and all that could wish.. to stay a bit longer.
