Jasmiina - 11 months!!!

Happy birthday, Jasmiina! Unbelievable.. Last one of the little birthdays.. :') Can't imagine, that in a month we're going to celebrate her big first and she's going to be all big.

I still see her as a little baby, kind of, and have no idea, where the time has gone.

Today was a nice celebration day, we went to our Montessori play morning as well. Jasmiina is so happy there, playing with everything..

And this is how she looks like, when she gets a toy, that makes sound. :)

Today I was surprised, how brave she is! Crawling around, in and out of this playhouse! Not scared at all, suddenly in the other end of the room.. With bunch of other children jumping around.

And she's pointing. :) She's pointing at everything now, with a very serious face and saying: "Te!", which means here in Latvian. I have to look too and describe what she's pointing at, then she is very happy. :) Usually she is pointing at lamps and pictures on the wall.

Sisters.. So cool to watch how their relationship is evolving. :) I think Adelaide can't wait for Jasmiina to be bigger, she so much wants to hug her.. Jasmiina doesn't always like it. Then again, sometimes Jasmiina wants to grab Adelaide, and then again Adelaide doesn't like it. Lots of stepping on each other's toes.. But that's a part of it. Most of the time they seem to love each other a lot.

What else? We had doctor's check-up a little while ago, Jasmiina hadn't gained very much, now she is

10,36 kg and 76 cm.

She is wearing size 80 clothes already.. Which Adelaide was wearing, when she was 1,5.
Jasmiina has 4 teeth still, but I just noticed, that two more are shining. Not sure if they're out yet.

She is standing. Sometimes. Rarely, that is. The first time she stood up was at 9th of November, so in this last month she has done it a few more times. But in the last days she is trying it more and more. So there's definitely progress. I almost want to worry a little bit, that she's not quite standing yet.. But actually, it is ok. As with everything, she is taking her time. :)

But Jasmiina is the happiest little girl. :) Her smile is adorable.

AND. She talks. Actually, she talks since 6-7 months old, when she started saying aitäh (thank you in Estonian) very clearly. At first I didn't believe it, because I didn't believe babies can actually talk so early. I thought people imagine it. But she actually did, she even meant it, and by now she has quite a few very clear words that she uses often and correctly. It's totally possible to understand what she means!

We counted, that she has about 10 words already.

5 in Estonian:
tahad (want)
vett (water)
tuli (fire, light)
tere (hello)
aitäh (thank you)

and 5 in Latvian:
te (here)
redzi (see)
dzert (drink)
kaķis (cat)
mamma (mom, she says it sometimes.. actually she says a version of issi as well, sounds like itsits, similar, as Adelaide's first version of it)

Cat is her favorite word. :)

Today we continued a tradition.. We give cake for the first time to our babies, apparently, not on their 1st birthday, as some other people do, but on their 11 months birthday. :D We did it with Adelaide, just for the reason to test the cake - I wanted to make sure the cake she's going to be eating at her actual birthday is ok for her. So now we did the same with Jasmiina. Her birthday cake testing. :) She seemed to like it a lot.

Jasmiina is attempting to eat with spoon quite nicely. :) Not always very productive, but she really wants to do it. To make it more productive, I sometimes try to sneak a bite for her myself or help to fill the spoon at least, but overall she doesn't like being fed. Adelaide was quite similar. In the eating section everything is going well. Sometimes it feels like she doesn't really eat anything much.. Which is fine, as she gets plenty of breastmilk still, going strong there. But then again there happens to be food that she likes, and then she eats a lot.
Interestingly, with this second baby I can say that I haven't made and haven't given her any single puree. Baby led weaning is working even better this time around.
Also, I have never given her sippy cup (or any bottle), she drinks from a cup from the beginning. At first with my help, but for months she can drink from a cup very successfully on her own. (If I don't care, that she gets wet sometimes.)

And I just taught her something.. :D To show tongue. (I have to show it back.) Maybe not the best thing to teach, but she thinks it's SO funny. :D She is such a joy.
