9 months!!!

Our baby is 9 months old!!! :)

As a birthday gift, she slept an hour longer than usual. :)

Today is also the International Women's Day! Some people here don't like it, because they feel like it's a Soviet leftover, but I think it is a great day for all the women to celebrate (exactly women should be celebrating it, not men, even though, of course it's still nice to give and receive flowers) - we should celebrate the rights of women, solidarity and just take a moment to think, what does it mean, to be a Woman? :) I'm not feministic at all in the classical sense, I do however feel, that it is very special to be a woman, I am really happy to be one (I have never ever not-wanted to be a woman!), I think it's a special gift and privilege!
So happy women's day to me, my amazing Adelaide and all the women out there!

Yesterday we met a part (small part, that's why it was a nice and enjoyable get-together) of Mr. Husband's family - Adelaide got to meet her 4 year old cousin, who she just adored, was jumping on him and kissing him! :D , and her little cousin, who is just 5 months older as well. They didn't interact almost at all, but it's ok - there is still time for them to become best friends.

Adelaide really enjoyed the party! She was just having so much fun.. Chasing the cat (who was a bit less friendly than ours), crawling around and inspecting all the cool new toys (for example, a ball! A usual rubber ball, we should get her one..), also - a balloon! Her cousin was playing with a balloon, and she just was laughing so hard! :D

And she also discovered a plastic chair, which was interesting.. Because it was light, so she was just pushing it around the room, creating sort of walker-wagon for herself! I guess we can also mark in our calendar, that our Adelaide is able to walk, while holding on to things:

FYI, Montessori is suggesting a walker-wagon for babies in this age, when they are learning to walk, something like this:

The one on the left! Picture from a Montessori blog: http://howwemontessori.typepad.com
It's interesting, Montessori actually supports natural development in children - so no rushing them to do something they are not yet able to - same time, she is offering this. (Child can hold onto it, push it, and so learn, how to make the first steps.)
I guess it is ok, because the child is not in an actual restricted position, so can do it only, if really is able to. Still, some people here (as here they are really obsessed with the not-interfering with the development part) are a bit suspicious even about a wagon like this.

Well, but you see.. Adelaide made it herself. She was able to do it and really liked it!

She also has been toughed to pet the cat nicely. :) I already wrote about it, but here is the video:

Don't mind the horrible music in the background, we were watching Estonia's Eurovision. :D

And also I taughed her to wave "bye bye"! It's seriously astonishing, how quickly she learns now! Because I just decided to try it, once while changing her, I just said "bye bye" and waved my hand. And she was copying me immediately! She doesn't connect it with someone leaving, just with the words. And now, when we say it, she waves her little hand so cutely. ;)

I still have to make the cake today.. :)

Will celebrate in the evening, when Husband comes home.
