Cloth diaper review: Continued

Today I received Bambino Mio Miosolo - All-in-one version from Bambino Mio.
(Ordered it from eBay and totally overpaid.. Oh well.)

It's so cute! :)

Bambino Mio Miosolo
Just to begin with - it's so nice! The quality is just perfect, it's nice to touch. And guess who likes her diaper? :)

But to the Review:
  • It is only one size for all. Adjustable with little buttons in front (only three different levels, though). I would probably say - what is good for all, is good for nothing. By saying that, I mean that I'm not expecting a diaper to fit everyone - starting from a tiny newborn to a 2-year-old. It's just not possible. And if it even is possible, then it's just not the best. (Like I think about Softbums.)
Sizewise, it's on the big side. It fits to her right now perfectly, being made almost as small as possible, and will fit still for a long time. Probably really until the potty. Would not recommend these for a newborn and a tiny baby.
So, actually, if you really are against buying more than one set of diapers for one baby, then Softbums might be a consideration.. With Bambino Mio, you really need to purchase more.
Made as small as possible
Made as big as possible
Compare to Softbums - both made as big as possible
I think in this picture you can perfectly see the difference - Bambino Mio is so much nicer shaped. Honestly, I think Softbums, when made possibly big, has a little bit weird shape. The top part doesn't look like it's supportive and is going to stay on. The sizing systems are different - Bambino Mio has the little buttons in front, Softbums has adjustable rubber.
Both made as small as possible. Here you can see, that Miosolo will not go very small, quite an average size. Softbums do go quite small. (Would be interesting to see, how does it fit to a newborn.)
  • The insert is made from polyester. (Same with Softbums Dry-touch insert. They (Softbums) also have Organic Bamboo, which is quite a lot more expensive, but would be probably better..) This is a bit of a disappointment, I like that Bambino Mio other inserts (for the All-in-two) are from 100% cotton.
This will mean, that washing is probably similar with Softbums. (Better to wash separately.)
Bambino Mio and Softbums
For Bambino Mio the insert is tucked in. It means, when it gets wet or dirty - all of it is wet and dirty, and has to be washed. A thing of All-in-ones.
This is how it looks, when the insert is taken out. It's possible to take it out, so it would dry quicker. I haven't tested yet, how long will it dry, but probably longer than the cotton inserts.. Really need to buy that dryer.
  • Miosolo doesn't have the special shaping of the leg hole that I described in the previous post. Probably, because the insert doesn't have to be held in.
Here you can compare Miosoft (size 7-9 kg) with Miosolo
And here you can see it doesn't have the leg shaping as the Miosoft
For the summary..

Bambino Mio All-in-one has definitely some let downs (for me), if compared to the usual All-in-two Bambino Mio. In those ways it even has something in common with Softbums. (Like the material of the insert and washing conditions..)
So Bambino Mio Miosoft, or All-in-two, with their two parts and cotton inserts, are still my first choice, at least with a small baby.

However, these Miosolo are still very nice, I like them a lot better than Softbums..

And as a result:

So it seems there is an answer to our cloth diaper problem.
We will purchase one more 12-pack of Bambino Mio All-in-two. Then we are set. (Only maybe have to buy some bigger sized outside parts later..)
But when the baby starts crawling and standing, and walking, and it's so much harder to change her, we might want to use some All-in-ones. For that reason definitely buying some stack of these, Bambino Mio Miosolo.
And for the next babies, hopefully I can buy the size 1 inserts from my friend. :) Then we would have all the collection.

P.S. In the previous post (as my Husband said), I might have caused some confusion. At first I said, that cloth diapers - it is cheap. And then again - as they are not any cheap.
Well, the logic is quite simple, probably you understand it anyway - at first it takes a bigger investment, to buy a set of diapers, really not that cheap. But in the long term, it still is a lot, LOT cheaper than to use disposable diapers. (That in Estonia are quite expensive.) And if you have more than one child, you can use the same diapers, and then it totally pays off. :)

P.P.S. About buttons and velcro.. Softbums come with both, you can choose. Bambino Mio come only with velcro. I'm quite ok with it. You can adjust the size more precisely. Sometimes they say, that at some point babies start opening their diapers, if with velcro, with buttons it is harder for them to do.. But it might not be a problem for us, as our home is more chilly than warm, and she will most likely always have clothes over the diaper. If at summer, then anyway can run naked. :)

And in the end.. all of my best wishes to all the cloth diaper users out there, and those, who are still considering! :)
