Mirror and smiles! :)

Probably everyone knows, that babies like mirrors. And looking at themselves.

But who doesn't know - especially Montessori suggests to place a mirror near the baby's floor bed, bedroom or play area. In that way baby can not only see him or herself, see her own expressions, but can observe the room as well - how the things are placed in the room, how people move in it. And that serves as the base for starting to explore it on her own.

Our baby didn't care about the mirror that much in the beginning. But a month old or so, she started smiling at herself. :) And she was so surprised, when saw mommy in the mirror, same time as being held by her!

But suddenly, today she loves the mirror more than ever! :) And was spending many minutes talking to herself, and even trying to touch..

And another thing.. It's so hard to catch her adorable smiles and laughs, as she doesn't really pose for the camera, but stops and seriously looks at it, whenever it appears. :)
But today I managed to catch come couple, and they are worth to share!

    1. Ok, I found: No mirrors of any kind are allowed in Waldorf schools (they promote too much self-focus)
:D Yes, that's why I probably will not be doing any phylosophy a 100%

    2. you shouldn't use mirrors in waldorf household - don't ask me why, that's something I don't really remember.

  2. True! :)
And it's interesting - one smart theory says one, another says something else. In the end it's up to us, what do we choose for our children.
