First time outside!

Today was supposed to be a resting day.. For me, anyway, because for some reason I'm running low on energy lately, and can't really get it back anyhow.
And the day surprised us with such amazing sunshine and warmth! (Actually like +10 C, but really sunny..) :) That we decided - it was definitely the time to first time show the outside to Adelaide.
Of course, she has been out, sitting in the stroller, or in the wrap.. And she was outside last summer, when she was really tiny.
But this was the first REAL time outside for her!

Finally got to try her new Stonz booties, that I bought already a week ago.. Here they are.

I chose Stonz as the first shoes for her, and after today I can say, that am very satisfied with this decision.
When it comes to babies and shoes, it's another controversial subject. Because there are two main opinions - the old school thinks, that babies' feet should be formed - that they need a hard, orthopedic sole and a stiff shoe, that is "supporting the ankle". The new school (which includes some doctors too), however, thinks the opposite - that babies' foot forms itself in the first years of life, responding to the stimulation, so the best is to be barefoot, especially in nature and stimulating surfaces, and the shoes should be possibly barefoot too - soft, bendy sole, soft shoe, that adjusts to the foot, not the other way around. I am definitely a supporter of the barefoot.
And Stonz was a choice, because of that - it's more like a cover, that protects, than a shoe. It's possible to buy also a warm insert, but we didn't think we need it, just a wool sock in it.

And the thing is, that often babies can't even walk at first in the hard sole shoes, because they are usually learning barefoot or in socks. A lot better they can walk in soft shoes.

And it was true, Adelaide didn't mind the Stonz, she could lift up quite easily (of course, all the outside layers are a bit disturbing..), and even stand, while holding on to the terrace, and take a couple of steps too.

Funny thing - daddy, of course, puts them the other way around. :D Which doesn't really matter, just the picture is inside.

What had to be about a great Sunday, turned into a shoe description. :)

But it was in fact great! We really saw, how outside is the perfect environment for a toddler. At first she was a bit confused.. As seen in this the very first video:

But then she got into it, researching everything that she could find in the grass, and inventing her own little games. :) She simply loved it! And so did we.
