Just being at home

So, I haven't written so long about Adelaide's adventures, that starting to get requests.. :)

Not sure even why, truth is - we are just spending calm days at home. It seems like nothing much new has been happening.

When the weather was nice, we went outside too, and that is the best! Adelaide so much likes to be outside. But lately it has been cold (snowing!!!) and wet..

Adelaide is having quite a calm period at the moment, I'd say.. I can say that, when I catch myself being able to do something for a couple of minutes, and she is playing somewhere on her own. Trying to enjoy it, as it will not last for long probably.

Adelaide has a period of putting things into and out of things - but in a real organized way!

She had put the plastic cups inside each other for a while, but she wasn't enjoying it that much.

But I discovered this, when I once gave her the basket of wooden blocks, and put a couple of blocks in the empty walker wagon. She totally took this action on! She put every singe block (and there are many!) from the basket to the wagon! And the ones that fell on the floor - she first put back in the basket, and only then - from basket to the wagon. She was so engaged in this work, that it happened to be exactly at the moment, when daddy came home - and usually, always in fact, she just runs towards him, but this time - she didn't almost notice, and first finished putting all the blocks. :)

And I have managed to give her such little jobs once in a while now. She is amazingly organized in it. And she must have some own logic in it - like she found this empty box. I gave her some socks to put in it, and now the socks always go there. She usually shows, what goes where, and I let her do it her way.

For example, today she figured out, that the blocks have to go on the couch.. And there is a baby, playing on her own for a couple of minutes. :)

We bought her one new toy - I wanted to get the Pink Tower (a classic Montessori material), but thought it might be too big and heavy, so maybe cubes that go into each other as well, might be a good idea.. (We bought it from Memme shop - the only place in Estonia that sells these wonderful Grimms toys!)

She, however, hates the idea of a tower! :D Every time we put it together, she knocks it down immediately.
But she does put them inside each other (which is not as easy as with the plastic cups, as they are cubes), so it was a good purchase!

We are also spending our free time crafting things for Adelaide - I am making something, and Mr. Husband is making something.. :) They are not ready yet, but looking good already.. Once they're ready, I'll be sure to show off immediately! ;)
