Adelaide's nameday with wild strawberries

It is Adelaide's Latvian nameday today (pēc paplašinātā kalendāra)!
Latvians celebrate namedays almost as much as birthdays (and I wrote about that and the girl's names in this post).
I would like to celebrate their namedays big time. :) Same as I have always celebrated mine. Why not have more amazing special days?! However, Adelaide has hers quite soon after her birthday, so probably we won't have another big party. (Unless we go to Latvia sometime and have a big party with our Latvian friends and relatives there? I actually like this idea!)
But a nice and special day it should be for sure. We started our day with flowers. Adelaide loves flowers!

But then we went to our neighbors' place and had such an amazing summer day there!
They had invited us there a little while ago to help out with some bigger work. (I don't seem to know and can't find a word for that in English.. But there is a term in Latvian and Estonian - talka/talgud! Traditionally friends and neighbors would come all together to help with bigger work that needs to get done. For free and actually it can become quite a fun event. And usually everyone is fed afterwards.) :)

Weirdly though we were the only ones that showed up. And maybe it was for the best! Because we had a really nice time with our really nice neighbors. Mr. Husband did also some hard working.. But me and the children (an upside of having small children :D ) were just hanging out in their beautiful country house yard. It really has such a country house feeling.. Maybe because it's old and hasn't lost it's charm. Our house actually also is old, but it's changed and totally doesn't have this feeling anymore. Either way, I felt like I'm in a real country, like visiting a grandparents house somewhere.. :) We were just playing and enjoying the heat and the sun (finally!), having refreshments, playing badminton, eating and picking wild strawberries and blueberries, that are getting ready.. and when men had finished their work, we even got to enjoy some real old sauna and a freshly smoked, out of the oven salmon, that was so delicious.. :) To me this seriously felt like a vacation and one of the best days ever, and I hope to Adelaide as well, as she likes her little neighbor friends and always wants to go visit them. Usually we go for an hour or two, this time for the whole day! So happy nameday, Adelaide!
