Third babymorning and cuddles
Today on a nice and sunny November day we went to the third Waldorf Baby-morning. And I took a friend with me too.
This time there were more people, 4 other moms with their kids apart from us and the teacher. Most of the kids in the "Baby"morning are around 2 years old. Or maybe 1,5 years.. It seems to me that they go there more to practice the kindergarten (hoping to put their kid there soon).
Honestly, I would like a group, where would be other babies as well.. Like until 1 year old's. It would be more interesting for me, and could find more things in common.
Because Adelaide can't really do anything that those others can. Even though she was very interested in looking at them! Rest of the time she spent chewing on a wooden truck.. :)
It was nice and relaxed morning, mostly just looking at what the children are doing. Each was playing with something.. Not together. Children at that age do not play together. (Mostly they don't even like each others company that much..) They play on their own or with their mother.
That's what the teacher said as well.. That in this age (until 3 years old) the best playmate for a child is his mother! (So there goes the silly stuff about little children having to go to kindergartens so early "to socialize"..)
Another interesting point was, that it was very quiet in the room. Five 2-year old's and a baby.. Total peace and quiet. :) I guess that's how it naturally is. With healthy, nurtured children, who's needs are met.
One interesting point.. Teacher pointed out, that Adelaide is getting close to an age, where she could have her first doll. Exactly yesterday I read about this age, and there also was said, that soon she'll enjoy anything that is soft and cuddly. And that's how first Waldorf dolls are, something like this:
Later on they have dolls with arms and legs. (Matching the time, when child himself becomes more aware and stable on his own legs and hands..)
So, but maybe it's a good idea to get her first doll for Christmas! Now the question is where and what, as I would like it to be nice quality..
In the evening Adelaide got tired and a bit cranky. She is sometimes, lately.. I think the teeth are coming. Or maybe it's just a developmental leap. But I decided to put her in the wrap again in long time.. And it was so nice. She totally relaxed and fell asleep. This is something that I will miss, when she grows up.. Should do it more often. Especially now, with hard times coming for her, developmentally.
