So many things to do, so many things to write about.. Now it really seems, that she is developing every day in light speed! Every day we wake up and have a bigger baby at home - smarter, happier, more communicative, agile and energetic.
She is actually interested to play with her toys..
She can concentrate and explore this activity toy even for like 5-10 minutes!.. (Or more, who knows, I have never timed it.) Point is - for a long time! For her age. Which is a great start.. (And here comes the importance to not interrupt!)
I think that today was the first time that she has been interested in her Permanence Box. It's a classic Montessori toy for babies, to teach the permanence of objects. We got ours - handmade - from a friend. :)
We have it for couple of weeks now, and so far she only was interested in the wooden ball. She really likes it, takes it and carries around with her, half of the time putting it in her mouth.
But today - she actually was exploring the box. Checking out both holes with her hands. And twice already (!) she actually put the ball in the hole! :) All on her own. Wow.. :D Such a joy. (I really have so much to learn still myself.. To not say: Good job!.. Story for another time.)
She doesn't that much understand the concept yet - she doesn't see the point in it. But her fine motor skills are obviously good enough to do it.
(Of course, when I was filming, she didn't do it anymore.)
She has become so much better at crawling.. Like, finally she is really not sliding or pulling anymore forward (even though she could do it really fast), now she is actually on her knees. She started doing it immediately as I let her be with naked legs. So, yes, obviously it makes a big difference. She couldn't really be on her knees, because with clothes on it is slippery on our laminated floor.
Now she is crawling beautifully.. And standing, seriously, better and better day by day.
If before I thought that there probably is really long time until she starts walking (even when holding by the hand), then now.. we think it might not be that far. She might be an early walker, we'll see.
And! The potty. :) She likes the potty, likes to sit on it. And I like it too. I really enjoy our potty time. It's the 3rd day with a potty at home.. And I put her to sit there after waking up and after eating. And so far we've been successful twice a day, every day!
Yes, it's a controversial subject, and I already almost managed to get into a fight about it.. :D
But what's to understand here, is this. Of course, it's not a traditional potty "training". It's not like she understands much of it yet. Actually it is a total Elimination Communication. I wasn't successful with it, when she was little, holding her over the sink and saying "pss pss pss".. I was just too lazy for it. Now, it's the same concept, just a different place - I put her there, either just on the occasion, or following the signals she is giving, and she does her business. If it happens, yes!, great for us (less diapers to wash), if it doesn't - it's fine. I'm still hoping, that over time she gradually will also consciously understand the point, that she will have good relations with the potty, and - ideally - she will want to use it sooner than later.
And another achievement.. Mine, not hers. :) Today is (was) finally a beautiful and sunny day! So I even was in a good mood enough to go out with her. I put her in the wrap (managed to do it, us both in winter gear, wasn't easy, but possible..) and we went outside! :) Just walked around our own yard, looked at the trees and bushes together. Maybe for like 15 minutes (it actually was windy), not long, but still so nice. :) She was really surprised, a bit cautious, but interested. I can't wait for the spring and summer!
I didn't take any pictures outside..
But hasn't she achieved also being even more cute? :D
