Valentines day afterthoughts

I noticed already before the day, that it is totally in style to say that Valentine's day sucks. :)

Nothing unusual, of course, because people don't like anything.. Christmas is no good, because of the greedy gift giving and stressful shopping, Eastern nobody cares about, because who cares about the religious reason, and eggs alone are not interesting enough. Nothing is left from Midsummer, only the shallow beer drinking and meat grilling. Women's day is Soviet, and New Years doesn't matter at all.. :D No one likes the religious celebrations, but neither cares about the folk ones. Yes, it's all stupid, all bad, yay for the gray everyday.

One person described her Valentines day as a big disappointment, because she always expects her husband to do something, and he always forgets, and she cries, so it's a stupid made-up holiday.

Well, all the holidays are made up. By people. For people! And I guess that I am somekinda anti-Grinch of all holidays.. :D ..but I will tell you this, pretty much the same that I told about creating the Christmas spirit.. YOU are the one, who's responsible for it! ;) And if others don't create it for you, then you have to create it yourself.

Celebrating love, romantic love, is an amazing thing, and I really don't get, how could it possibly be bad or stupid. Because some people are alone? Well, some people are not mothers, but we do celebrate Mother's day. If it doesn't concern you or you don't want to celebrate, please don't. But kinda wanting and then trying to ruin it for everyone else..?

Stop expecting world to be a better and happier place, without doing anything yourself. Stop expecting from others to make you happy. Instead, start thinking of GIVING instead of expecting and receiving! It is true what they say, giving IS the biggest joy.

If about the Valentines day.. No, it is not the day, when men are supposed to give flowers and chocolates to women. It's a day to celebrate love. Think, how to make the other one happy and how to thank them.

Start thinking, how to make others happy, and the world, I promise, will seem a happier place! ;)

..as for us. I asked, a couple of days ago, what are we going to do on this day? It was on Sunday, so a great chance to actually spend it together and enjoy it. We decided to spend it at home. And other times I have made some nice dinner and so, but this time I was more on the receiving end. My amazing Husband cooked breakfast, those same heartshaped waffles. Then we went to church! Which was amazing, as we don't get to do it anymore nearly as much as we'd like. Then we came home and watched an episode of My Kitchen Rules, a cooking show that we love. :D And then he cooked an amazing dinner, ending with a really delicious Chocolate Lava cake.. I was impressed! I am always the one to do all the cooking in this house.. So this was such a nice change! We both really enjoyed the day, I'd say - it was a perfect Valentines day for us. :)
Oh.. We all three enjoyed it!
