Visiting Tartu
The year of nice weekends is continuing.. We just came back from a lovely visit of Tartu and Adelaide's Godparents.
We were really blessed with the weather - before and after has been wet and not so pleasant, but we got to enjoy a really nice and snowy walk around the town of Tartu. Tartu is really cool, well.. it's impossible to not like it. This time, however, we didn't go to the old town and center that much, but explored a bit further, still ending up in one of the nice little cafe's of this student town.
Our little traveler is taking such trips very well. In the first months it was a bit more difficult, but already for couple of months she has absolutely no problem to be in the car.. Even if she is awake for a while, she is just calm and looking around (usually sleeping, of course, and it is the smart choice to schedule long drives according to her nap times). So I even moved back to the front seat of the car now, next to the Husband, as for all of these 8 months I had been in the back with her.
Sleep is somewhat an issue, because even if she sleeps ok away from home, I often don't. This time the first night was surprisingly ideal, but the second.. well, I don't know if it was the over-stimulation of the day, just the different circumstances, or what.. but I could barely sleep at all, and she woke up at 8'o'clock, which she hasn't done like.. ever, since she was 4 months old (our waking time is around 10 am, and I am really happy with that).
Her favorite part of the trip, I guess, was the big aquarium at the restaurant. :) There was a huge orange fish, which she particularly loved.
Anyway, now we are back home, and another first: cat scratched her for the first time (there even was some blood..). It was bound to happen sometime and we saw it coming. But same as with everything.. she has to learn, that cats can do that. Usually, though, he is really patient with her, more even than with us, and doesn't harm her. But to teach her to give him a nice pat and to not pull.. well, that's the hard part and we're still working on it. :)

Poor Romeo :) He is doing a great job.. In spite of the disappointment that we had to bring home this new - loud and dangerous - family member.. |
