Day 2 with 2 under 2
Yesterday was the first day that Mr. Husband returned to work (and he actually went to work, even though it wasn't an overly long day), and I was for real home alone with both of my girls.
Having the second child, at least in our case, is so much easier than when we had just Adelaide.. (as a small baby) With the second, we just have so much more experience and confidence. I remember, when Adelaide was a baby, even though we were doing great and were comparingly confident young parents, it was still stressful, I was so afraid to stay alone with her.. even when she was a month old. But now, I actually wasn't scared to stay alone with these two.
So the first day went perfectly well. It was even very enjoyable! The new life, sure, is busier and faster paced, as there just is twice more to do, but that is even interesting, and time goes fast.
We even have a little rhythm going.. Soon after our breakfast and morning washing, after a little awake time, Jasmiina goes back to sleep, and I put her to sleep in the wrap, so she would sleep better (the fresh newborn period, when she was sleeping peacefully almost all the time, is ended, and a real 4th trimester is here, with her being more restless, preferring being held and in a tight and cozy womb-like environment), and I could do stuff with Adelaide. Yesterday we made soup together.
And even the first real naptime was successful! We went to bed early, as Jasmiina had awoken, she ate, while Adelaide was bringing her baby doll in the bed and cuddling with us. Finally Jasmiina fell asleep (with Adelaide's help), and as Adelaide was already calm and drowsy, she soon fell asleep too. (Adelaide needs cuddling (and singing) to fall asleep.) So I had a whole free hour and could write the yesterday's blog post. ;)
After Adelaide woke up and we had soup for lunch, I even managed to get ready myself and dress both children in time for going to visit Mr. Husband's family. So, one happy and proud mom here. :D
Lets hope it all continues as well too.. Of course, other days are even easier, because Mr. Husband works from home and can help out, if really necessary. We haven't gone outside with Jasmiina yet (other than car rides), it was quite cold before, now is only a bit under 0 C (the opinions on this vary, even in Estonia, some say it's fine to go out with a newborn, if it's until -10 C, the doctor at the hospital said though to not go out for the first month, if it's under 0 C), but.. I think soon, very soon, we can start trying to go out. I miss going outside with Adelaide!
Adelaide is becoming only more and more cute with her little sister, it's the cutest thing ever! And she also is starting to copy some of our movements with her baby doll, for example - she is making a crying sound, then picking up her baby and rocking it in her arms. :D She is learning fast!
P.S. She loves putting this hat on! :D That's why shes indoors with a hat..
