Stickers
Children love stickers. And it seems, Adelaide has reached the age for stickers.
We got her one sticker book, in case, when we went to Georgia in September, but didn't use it, she was more interested in other things (she was 15-16 months then). Recently, we found this book, and.. turns out, she loves stickers now!
Simultaneously, I saw a blog post about cool sticker books, so I ordered one of those books for Adelaide.. They are Eyelike Stickers books, there are many, and we chose the Seasons.
And, quite funny, but Adelaide's Grandmother gave her a book yesterday, also a sticker book, and she didn't even know about Adelaide's recent interest, she just gave it, because it has animals, and Adelaide likes animals. :) So, now we have many.
The first book Kleepsu-pusled (first on the left on the first picture) is nothing special, but it's ok, it was really cheap. The stickers are once-usable.
The second, Kleepsuraamat Loodus, is actually really nice. Animals are drawn, but they are realistic enough, and there is a lot of them! I'm actually surprised, how nice this book is, somehow, when I search through Estonian bookshops, I don't find anything good at all.
And the Eyelike Stickers are nice too, there are photo images of animals and many other things (flowers, leaves, fruit etc). There are only the stickers in the book, no place to stick them to, so you have to stick them somewhere else (Kleepsuraamat Loodus has scenery pictures, where you are supposed to stick them), but Adelaide anyway doesn't stick them in the book.
Adelaide just sticks them anywhere.. Mostly on her hands. :D (I noticed, that in the video two posts ago she also has a sticker on her hand!) On me.. Everywhere.
I have to help her get the sticker, because it's quite difficult.
For sure, her sticker journey is only in the very beginning phase, but it has begun.
But for sure - great for fine motor development (for those little fingers!) and a fun activity, can do it all kinds of ways.
