Sisters

This is 4th day at home with both of our girls.. And so far, Adelaide likes her baby sister! :)

Once we stepped in from the door, first she was so happy to see us, as this time she was longer than ever without us - she was running into our arms and giving us kisses. Then we showed her the baby in the carseat. She was so excited! She has been loving babies for a while now - since I started telling her, that there is a baby in my belly, and to my surprise, despite how little she is, she actually picked it up. And she loved babies, wherever she saw them..
And now too - seeing her baby sister Jasmiina - she was so excitedly showing, that baby has eyes! And ears! And hands!.. She immediately wanted to rock the carseat, and she was protesting, when we took the baby out from it.
Then, she immediately learned the word sister (māsa in Latvian). She likes her sister and mainly wants her to go sleep in her cradle.

In the first minutes at home, there was a little screaming too, when I took the baby in my arms.. But that was mainly because Adelaide was so tired (it was past her naptime) and she had missed us. Luckily, Jasmiina was calm and sleeping at the moment, so we all - all 3 of us - went to take a nap. Adelaide was so happy and fell asleep, constantly repeating: all together, all together!..

After that she hasn't minded that much even when the baby is being held, if she does at first, all it takes is to involve her - show her the baby, explain, let her touch.. It's seems so obvious, at least at this point - if we would shove her away, ignore her, while dealing with the baby, she would get upset. But once she's involved, she is fine and even happy!

Of course, so far it is easy - Mr. Husband has a 2 week dad vacation, we can switch and share tasks.. I am not worrying about real life yet and how will that go - give me some time - for now just taking it easy and recovering from birth. Also Adelaide hasn't really seen me feeding the baby yet, I go in another room, just until we have breastfeeding all perfect and rolling.

But these first days have been just a bliss.. :) Truly a little paradise island. Having two children is just amazing, it feels so right! We are enjoying this time together so much..
